[On winning female athlete of the year at the Golden Goggles] “This event has been really great. It’s crazy to see everyone so dressed up when we’re usually running around half-naked in swimsuits! There were so many athletes at the Games who did a phenomenal job, especially my fellow nominees. Kaitlin kept improving every swim and surprising everyone. Amanda had an amazing race in the 200 breaststroke. I want to thank all of my Cal supporters, especially my coach, Teri McKeever, the first female coach on the Olympic staff. She made such a difference in my life and my swim career. Four years ago, I didn’t think I’d still be swimming.”
